Christmas Lights
Mississauga City Hall- January 2009
I don't like Christmas much. It's cold, people are miserable under the pressure of finding the right gift, and the holidays are so close to A's birthday. But the lights, bright sparkling lights that hang off leafless maple trees and city hall cornices and rain gutters on ugly brick houses...the christmas lights make christmas pretty.

Toronto Protest Against the Israeli Occupation of Gaza
There may be times when we are powerless to prevent injustice, but there must never be a time when we fail to protest.

Countdown: Last 30 Days in Ottawa: Last night

It was incredible, standing two inches away from Magritte, and Duchamp, enveloped inside a Moshe Safdie structure. I highly recommend a visit to the National Gallery of Canada when in Ottawa.

Countdown: Last 30 Days in Ottawa: Hash

"Everyone has a story, a conflict waiting to be resolved"
To me, Hash is less Ottawa and more Lebanon. Lebanon's political and religious unrest, it's mythical beauty and multifaceted people, personified.

Countdown: Last 30 Days in Ottawa: Day 26: One year later...

It took me an entire year of hating Ottawa to finally sink my roots into its very heart. And now that I feel at home, I'm leaving it.
It has been a month full of angst, I don't want to give Ottawa all up!
